Sage password problem

If your passwords in sage accounts 50 suddenly are not working this may be due to a failure of operating system not sage itself.
The first course of action is to try all the passwords including the manager password, if all these are rejected  not found then try the following
If you have forgotten the passwords then contact sage  support if you have it if not download a password cracker from the net they do exist.

If your our sure of the passwords try the following

  • Run the dot.net fix from Microsoft   this can be found here , then try again
  • Next try to repair the installation from the cd
    • Control panel - Add remove
    • Select remove then Repair
  •  If this fails contact you IT specialist and have them check all permissions and check that no part of the system is corrupt.
  • Or try This http://www.accpwr.co.uk/ This is a password cracker for  accounts and payroll AccPWR will allow you to gain access to your Sage Accounting, Payroll and Compatibilité data when you no longer have access to the password. No need to send your data to a 3rd party - recover / reset the password yourself.

Make sure you do regular backups as failure to do so could cost you all of your accounts not just one days.

Sage Accounts "user already logged in"

If you are trying to get into Sage Accounts and  you get an error message
user already logged in
And no user is logged in  you must delete the lock file. This can be found by searching your drive for Queue.DTA. Make sure that you search all files even the hidden ones.
I Suggest that when you find it you do not delete it straight away but rename it queuexxx.dta. You should now be able to  log into Sage a new file will be created. You can then delete the old one.
