Data usage and Mobile phones

When you choose a mobile phone there are some things to consider that do not immediately jump out at you. One of these is data usage, all but the most basic mobile phones now connect to the internet to perform a variety of tasks that are not always visible to you.
Mobile phones check apps stores for new versions and some download and install automatically if you have said it is ok to do this in the setup. Auto backup systems backup you data to your google or Apple account. Google and Apple have an image backup service that sends copies of your pictures to your account storage space on the internet.
Apps like Facebook, twitter and Google Plus+ are constantly contacting their servers for new messages again if switched on in setup.

Another thing to consider is Battery life this can be reduced by switching apps on or off and not collecting you mail during the night, This will also help you data usage.

In short when you are considering a new phone calculate your data usage before you decide you tariff.
